Former T&T World Cup striker Anthony Wolfe and Guaya United captain and stand-out midfielder, Ryan “Fry” Stewart have joined their former club Japs North East Stars for the remainder 2015/16 Digicel T&T Pro League season.

The 32-year-old Wolfe, who last played for Indian I-League club SC de Goa, will link up with long-time team-mate, Stewart, 33, a former Morvant Caledonia United and USA-based midfielder. Stewart is coming off an impressive campaign in the recently concluded CNG National Super League season for Guaya United where he netted 23 goals to help his club second placed behind Defence Force, by a point.

Both players are among a number of January/February transfer window signings made by Stars’ coach Ross Russell as he tries to move his team up the table with the third and final round of league competition set to begin on Tuesday.

In addition to Stewart, Stars has also signed up ex-T&T FIFA Under-17 and Under-20 World Cup goalkeeper Glenroy Samuel and former Soca Warriors striker and the league’s second leading scorer overall Kerry Baptiste while T&T 2006 World Cup member Anthony Wolfe and Shane Hospidales have both rejoined the Sangre Grande-based club as well.

Other January/February mid-season transfer window moves completed before the window closed on February 26 included ex-St Ann’s Rangers captain Jelani Peters and former Central FC winger Qian Grosvenor making the switch to W Connection while T&T Under-23 player Akeem Roach moved to Defence Force, and defender Akeem Benjamin to San Juan Jabloteh
