The Princes Town Rambo 12 All Fours Club , ten times National All-Fours Champions collected the biggest first prize purse ever in National All-Fours when they collected $ 200,000.00 in being the Inaugural Winner of the Trinidad and Tobago All-Fours Federation Premier Champions League.
Sponsored by Caribbean Bottlers Limited Agents and Distributors of Miller Lite Beer , Famous Grouse Scotch Whisky and Coca Cola Products and Angostura Limited Sponsors of the National Championship Division held a Gala Ceremony for clubs at the beautiful Canton Palace Restaurant in San-Fernando on the weekend.
The 17th TTAFF National All-Fours awards ceremony was glittered with pomp and ceremony which saw all-fours taken to a next level and in particular signalled the recognition the sport now deserves as it is now recognised by the Ministry of Sport as a legitimate sport in Trinidad and Tobago.
Lincoln Persad , CEO of the federation expressed that the journey to recognition was not an easy one as TTAFF over the last seventeen years worked on reshaping the game and the image associated with the sport by instilling in the minds of players that they needed to improve the level of discipline and the management of their teams.
He went on further to add , that TTAFF’s goal over the next few years is to build the National All-Fours Centre with the aim of building a ‘Home for All-Fours’ and to use the National Centre to sustain and develop the sport and fan base thereby making TTAFF more financially independent.
Sherwin Cox , General Secretary of TTAFF presented the National League’s Report for both divisions citing the need for greater structures within clubs and said that the strength of TTAFF lies squarely on the club structure and stressed his organisation’s goal to work towards that in 2016.
He said that by the end of this year the first ever national all-fours team will be selected from the Premier and Championship Divisions which will tour the world and participate in the World All-Fours Federation’s Competitions in Europe and North America in 2017 something which most players will be looking forward to qualify for.
