T&T goalkeeper Jan Michael Williams and his teammates got good news that the custodian had no bleeding of the brain, following a collision with Honduras striker Alberth Elis in Tuesday’s Final Round World Cup Qualifying clash at the Estadio Olympico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula.

The T&T number #1 goalie was knocked unconscious as he suffered a concussion for about seven minutes after Elis’ knee caught him on the head after just 10 minutes in the encounter, causing officials to immediately rush him to hospital where a CT scan was done. Marvin Phillip, the Morvant Caledonia United goalie replaced Williams in goal but could not prevent the T&T going down 1-3 for their second defeat of the campaign.

Team doctor Terrance Babwah said “Williams was unconscious for seven minutes and could not recall anything about the game leading up to the point of injury. He regained consciousness and was kept for observation until 10pm Honduras time.”
