
Brandon Gregorie and Emma Davis lived up to expectations when they won the boys under-21 and girls under-18-21 titles at the Tennis Patrons Association 40th Annual Royal Bank Junior Tennis Tournament at the Trinidad Country Club, Maraval, yesterday.
Gregoire, who pulled of an exciting three-set upset over the top-seed Scott Hackshaw in Wedensdays semi-finals returned yesterday to turned back a gamed Jualon Greig 7-6, 6-0 to celebrate as the tournament’s number-three seed. Greig reached the title match after an exciting 6-3, 4-6, (10-7) Nkrumah Patrick.
Meanwhile, Emma Davis proved very consistent in her play as the top-seed when she defeated Anya King in a competitive final 7-6, (2 in tie-break) and 6-3 in the second set.
In the girsl under-16 final, Jade Tom Yew got the better of the number-one seed Yin Lee Assang 4-6, 6-4 (10-7), while in the boys equivalent it was Adam Ramkissoon who prevailed over Edward Laquis 6-2, 6-2 in a battle of the top two seeds.
Ramkissoon was the top-seeded player in the group.
