The T&T Boxing Association in conjunction with ACTN “The Voice Cable 9” will continue its preparation of junior boxers for regional and international competition in the future with a seven-bout card tomorrow at the Cosmic Boxing Gym, Marabella from 7 pm.
The card will feature rising talent Tyrique Hosein, who delivered an impressive performance at the recent boxing at the Brian Lara Castle, going up against his same opponent Kevin Ramdeo. Hosein won that contest by split decision but he moreso, left a lasting impression on the minds of many who attended the card, with his agility, jabs, bobbing and weaving and shot selection.
Ramdeo, who is equally talented, will be hoping to turn the table around in the three-round contest. Apart from that fight there will also be a contest between Mike Inniss, the only T&T fighter to have been beaten in the duel with Jamaica at the Lara Castle last week, and Anthony Ravello of the Youth Training Centre (YTC) in the 60kg category, as well as five other fights on the undercard.
The T&T boxers are being prepared for the Caribbean School Boys/Girls and Junior Tournament in Georgetown, Guyana from April 29 -30; the Elite Continental Championships in Honduras which has been set tentatively for June 1- July 15; the Youth Commonwealth Games in Nassau Bahamas July 19-23 and the World Championships in Hamburg, Germany, starting late August.
Entry for tomorrow’s action will be $30.
