T&T’s Machel Cedenio ran a season’s best to win the Men’s 400 metres at the second-annual adidas Boost Boston Games distance festival at Dilboy Memorial Stadium in Somerville, Boston, Massechusetts, in the United States on Friday evening.

The local quartermiler, running in lane six, clocked 45.65 seconds to cross first ahead of Americans Tony McQuay in 45.91 and Josehus Lyles in 46.43.

T&T’s Renny Quow, who was lined up in lane eight, was fourth in a time of 46.79.

Two other local runners Alena Brooks in the women’s 1,500m and Sparkle McKnight in the women’s 800m were also active at the meet but neither completed their respective races.

The Games features both a fan-friendly track event in Somerville and, today in Boston, a “street meet”.

At the US Paralympic Track and Field Championships at Drake Stadium at UCLA in Los Angeles, Nyoshia Cain picked up two medals.

She won a gold in the women’s 200m43/44 T44 in 28.22 and bagged a bronze in the long jump 43-47 F44 after leaping a best effort of 3.73m.
