Having gotten over its slow start to the league season, in-form DirecTV W Connection will have its eyes set on taking over top spot in the Digicel T&T Pro League when it meets Defence Force in a feature match of a double-header at Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva from 8pm.

Going into tonight’s encounter, the “Teteron Boys” who were hammered 4-0 by W Connection in the Totoya Classic on December 13 and then went under to Police FC 1-0 in the league on Friday last are currently locked at the top of the table on 11 points from six matches, the same as Central FC which plays tomorrow.

Meanwhile, W Connection, which has also won the First Citizens Cup already this season, is one of three clubs, a point behind along with Play Whe San Juan Jabloteh and Japs North East Stars and a win today, will see the “Savonetta Boys”, who crushed Stars 3-0 and battered St Ann’s Rangers 5-0 in their two matches since the Classic triumph go top for the first time this season.

Two hours earlier today at Couva, Jabloteh, buoyed by its shock 1-0 defeat of defending champions Central FC will also have a chance to take possession of the top spot on the ten-team table when it faces cellar-placed Cl Sando, which is coming off a 3-1 loss to Pt Fortin Civic.

Down at the Mahaica Oval, Pt Fortin Civic will have a chance to build on its first win of the season, against Morvant Caledonia United, which is also coming of a first victory, 2-1 over Stars.

Tomorrow at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, St Ann’s Rangers and Police square off at 6 pm followed by Stars and Central FC, with both teams eager to get back to winning ways after their weekend slip-ups.
